Get Help From a Bondsman for Bail in Oahu

by Collin Keyes | Jun 2, 2014 | Bail Bonds

If you’ve been arrested, most of the time you will have to pay a bail amount in order to be released until your court hearings. When you are able to get Bail Oahu there are a number of bail bondsmen who can help a family member or friend bail you out. In general, the bail process can be done quickly, and you can be out the same day or the next day.

When you’ve been arrested, if you have a friend or family member who is willing to cosign a bail for you, they’ll need to meet with a bondsman. In many cases, the bondsmen are available for extended hours or 24 hours a day, so they don’t have to wait until normal business hours to help you out. When they speak with bondsman about Bail Oahu, they’ll have to either pay a percentage of the bail amount or put up collateral to cover the bail.

They will be asked to sign a contract. In this contract, they agree that they understand that if you do not arrive to your court hearings as scheduled, they will either have to pay the remainder of the bond, or they will lose their collateral depending on how they covered the bail amount. As long as they are sure you will attend your hearings, they can sign this contract.

Once this is done, the bail bondsman will go to the jail and pay the full amount of your bond. He will get this money back if you show up to your hearings, so your family member or friend will not have to pay further money or will get their collateral back. They won’t be repaid the percentage they paid, however, as that will be the bondsman’s fee for providing the Bail Oahu. Once he has paid your bond to the jail, it will be processed.

When your bond has been paid, you will be able to be released from jail. It’s important that once you are released, you keep up with all court dates, so you don’t default. The Bail Oahu bondsmen can post for you will allow you to find a lawyer, keep up with work until your hearing, and keep you from having to wait in jail until the hearings are over.
